Apparently, the PS4 version won’t be receiving second-hand treatment via a shoddy port. CD Projekt RED plans on releasing The Witcher 3 at the same time as other “high-end” platforms and the development team has had early access to the PS4 hardware, according to Head of CD Projekt RED, Adam Badowski:
While The Witcher 3 is a sequel, it is also a standalone title. Those unfamiliar with the series will be introduced to the ongoing story via an opening cinematic sequence, likely similar to that used in The Witcher 2, which explained the events of the initial PC-only installment. RPG fans should take notice of this one as CD Projekt RED has promised open-world gameplay that aims to rival that of Skyrim and the Dragon Age series.
