While only one ACNH bug is leaving the Northern Hemisphere after April, it is a notable one, as Tarantula farming has been a go-to method for making a lot of Bells since the game’s release. That said, the Tarantula spawn rate in Animal Crossing: New Horizons was recently cut in half, and thus their disappearance will not be as apparent as it would have been prior to the change.

In the Southern Hemisphere, there are 10 Animal Crossing: New Horizons bugs leaving after April, and the Scorpion is likely to be the standout of the bunch. As with Tarantulas, Scorpions sell for a ton of Bells in ACNH, and players will need to find alternative options for Bell farming when May arrives. However, Scorpions have also had their spawn rates cut recently, making them a much less reliable source of Bells in preface of their vanishing.

To note, May will see eight new bugs arrive in the Northern Hemisphere and three new bugs arrive in the Southern. While many of these insects are quite common, there are a number of rare Animal Crossing: New Horizons bugs coming next month, such as the Queen Alexandra’s Birdwing, and players should be sure to dust off their nets before their arrival.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available now for the Nintendo Switch.
